Seagulls
Podczas pobytu w Monako doszło do niespodziewanego zamachu na nasze jedzenie. W drodze do Katedry nasza koleżanka padła ofiarą ataku mewy (nic jej nie jest 😉). Wbrew pozorom mewy są dosyć popularnym gatunkiem ptaków nawet na Lazurowym Wybrzeżu. Ich rozpiętość skrzydeł może wynosić nawet 1,5M. Charakterystycznym pożywieniem dla mew są nadmorskie znaleziska w postaci małż, ślimaków oraz larw większych owadów. Jako turyści możecie je karmić również zbożem, otrębami, płatkami owsianymi lub gotowanymi pokrojonymi warzywami (bez dodatku soli).
During our stay in Monaco, there was an unexpected attack on our food. On the way to the Cathedral, our friend was attacked by a seagull. Contrary to appearances, seagulls are quite popular bird species even on the Côte d’Azur. Their wingspan can be up to 1.5M. Seagulls typically feed on seaside finds in the form of mussels, snails and larvae of larger insects. As tourists, you can also feed them cereals, bran, oatmeal or cooked sliced vegetables (without added salt).

Dwa dni później, na terenie naszego ośrodka, zostalismy poinformowani o obecności dwóch dzików. W przypadku pierwszego, zabroniono nam wychodzić z domków. Natomiast w przypadku drugiego dwójka z nas postanowiła przyjrzeć się bliżej temu zwierzęciu co zostało udokumentowane na nagraniu. Co więcej podczas rozmowy z uczniami ze szkoły partnerskiej dowiedzieliśmy się, że dziki są częstym zwierzęciem widzianym na terenach Lazurowego Wybrzeża. Z uwagi na to, że obozowisko ma charakter leśny mogły je przyciągnąć małe gryzonie, larwy owadów oraz owoce lasu. Można jeszcze dodać, że ten sam gatunek dzika występuje w Polsce (dzik euroazjatycki), czyli najpopularniejszy z gatunków dzików na świecie.
Two days later, in our resort, we were informed of the presence of two boars. In the case of the first, we were forbidden to leave the cottages. In the case of the other two of us decided to take a closer look at this animal which was documented on the video. What’s more, during a conversation with students from our partner school, we learned that wild boars are a common animal seen in the French Riviera. Due to the forest nature of the camp, they could be attracted by small rodents, insect larvae and forest fruits. It can also be added that the same species of wild boar occurs in Poland (Eurasian wild boar), i.e. the most popular wild boar species in the world.

Podobnie do Polski, podczas pobytu tutaj będziecie mogli doświadczyć obecności wokół siebie wielu kotów, w większości dzikich (tzw. dachowców), czego udało się nam dowiedzieć od uczniów ze szkoły partnerskiej. Wbrew pozorom koty to niezwykle popularne zwierzę na całym świecie, i jest to również rodzina, w której w skład wchodzą lwy, gepardy, żbiki oraz wspominanie wcześniej, koty domowe. Większość z nich poprzez dużą ilość turystów, nie boi się przejść obok nas, a nawet są skłonne dać się pogłaskać, ale trzeba uważać bo mogą być nosicielami chorób lub najzwyczajniej w świecie mogą być agresywne. Zwykle natomiast, można je potraktować bardzo przyjaźnie.
Similarly to Poland, during your stay here you will be able to experience the presence of many cats around you, mostly wild (so-called roofers), which we were able to learn from students from our partner school. Contrary to appearances, cats are an extremely popular animal all over the world, and it is also a family that includes lions, cheetahs, frogs and, as mentioned earlier, domestic cats. Most of them, due to the large number of tourists, are not afraid to pass by us and are even willing to be caressed, but you have to be careful because they may be carriers of diseases or simply in the world they may be aggressive. Usually, however, they can be treated very friendly.
